Mount Pleasant Winery was founded in 1859 by George Munch and his brother, Frederick who came to America from Germany. They built the wine cellars from the abundant limestone and timber that was found in the area that are still in use today. The winery grows 16 varieties of grapes on 85 acres of vineyards. Wine tasting, tours of the wine cellars and picnics on the scenic patio are a great way to spend they day. The winery is open year round with extended hours on select weekends and special events.
